Gantt Chart across projects
Wednesday, July 01, 2009 1:09:12 PM

Using Gantt charts for the project is great. But it is even more existing to see ALL projects visualized as meta-project by Gantt charts. Thus you can see progress and responsible people for top-level tasks and get quick understanding of all projects.

You can see multi-projects view and have 2 additional options: defining the level of details and the task-keepers. Just enable this feature in Comindwork Labs and see your "All->All Gantt" menu item.

Finally, we've found a proper place for beta-features. Beforehand, we were providing these feautures "by request", that caused lots of misunderstanding for customers.

Now you may choose to enable or disable new features using Comindwork Labs. Search for the green bottle in the top-right menu, and choose which items work for you.

We're working to move lots of features to Labs mode, and the features currently available are:
  • Gantt Chart across projects
  • Tasks / Tickets Widget on Dashboard
  • WYSIWYG Editor Support for Tables
  • "Move wiki page to another project" ability

Please let us know what you think is valuable to move to "Labs". Or which features you want to add.

Share usage scenarios

Comindwork has a lot of tools that may be used and combined in various ways. We've gathered some of the most important scenarios of Comindwork usage (sometimes they're referred as "GTDs" or "use cases") and want to share it with our customers. Current scenarios include:
  1. How to manage projects for clients
  2. How to support whole business / virtual office
  3. How to organize and lead a new project
  4. How to run a business process constantly

However, we understand that it's impossible to invent every possible trick. And we encourage you to drop us a note about your best practises of managing your processes with Comindwork.

Send them to us and get 20% discount on any hosted or local plans!

Thus we'll learn your needs better and streamline our efforts in best possible way.

Just drop us a note :)

We understand that SaaS is not appropriate for some of the companies. For those who want more control over data, quicker response time, have company restrictions on "external" software etc.

From now on, we propose to
You can also easily migrate your data from online version to local if needed, or migrate from legacy software you're using now.
Sure thing, in this case Comindwork stops being a "service", but becomes a "software". But our brilliant support stays the same! :)

Tasks widget on dashboard - Beta
Monday, June 15, 2009 7:34:47 AM

Alex Postnikov
Hello and thanks for staying tuned with Comindwork!

Following the numerous requests for this functionality, we've added ability to see Tasks or Tickets on project dashboard, in form of a widget. You may see it in action on Demo project.

This functionality is in beta mode, and we may enable it upon request. We have a lot of possible ways to extend it, thus need your feedback: what is required in your use case. For instance,
  • Custom filters: my tasks, overdue tasks, assigned etc
  • Which data should be shown
  • Ability to save current position
  • Do you require global list of tasks or tickets?

Please let us know if you want to try it and tell us how the functionality can be extended to fit your needs.

Keep talking!
